St Johnstone drew a blank

Third-place Inverness move to within two points of Motherwell and stay five clear of St Johnstone, who replace Ross County in fourth. The impasse continued in the second half but Inverness went close when Jones' powerful shot from 30 yards was well saved by Mannus, despite a deflection. Inverness were first to threaten with Jones whipping in an early shot, which was deflected for a corner and the Welshman's next effort also resulted in a corner after a Saints defender got in the way.The Saints keeper was then quick to race from his line to thwart the inrushing Doran.Shinnie scorned a great opportunity when he bulleting a header over following a Jones cross from the right.Mannus saved Saints again six minutes from time with a star jump to punch the ball clear as Ross Draper's run into the box caught Frazer Wright napping, a fine reaction save to block the midfielder's header. Liam Craig made a break from midfield and drove into the box just after the half-hour mark to fire low across the Inverness box, but Antonio Reguero was alive to the danger with a low dive to gather the ball safely.Saints seemed to take heart from their close call and drove forward as the game ebbed away, but a weak Mehdi Abeid effort well wide was all they could muster and the sides settled for a share of the spoils. Just before half-time Mehdi Abeid fired in a fierce shot from 30 yards which whistled a yard wide of Reguero's left-hand post.
