Barcelona wait for La Liga title

Victory for the Catalans and defeat for second-placed Real would have secured Barcelona the title, but the league leaders must now wait at least another week to be crowned champions.Cristiano Ronaldo was not included in the squad because of a thigh injury and Real's weakened side made the worst possible start as Falcao scored at the back post. The introduction of Lionel Messi as a second-half substitute boosted Barcelona, who had trailed Bilbao at the break thanks to Markel Susaeta's opener.Real added to Barca's frustration by continuing their dominance over neighbours Atletico, even though manager Mourinho made eight changes to the side which started the 4-1 Champions League defeat by Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.Messi equalised by evading four defenders for a superb solo goal and provided the assist as Alexis Sanchez made it 2-1.Atletico started the second half brightly, with Raul Garcia's header tipped onto the crossbar by Diego Lopez and Gabi then squandered a great chance after being put through by Diego Costa. But a minute before the end Ander Herrera found the bottom corner after capitalising on Adriano's sloppy clearance.
