Glasgow City head coach Eddie Wolecki-Black believed half-time substitute Suzanne Malone helped swing the game in their favour. On 36 minutes, City did however take the lead as Jo Love fired home at the edge of the six yard box after an inviting cross from Ruesha Littlejohn. He said: "I felt in the first half the game seemed pretty even, and the one time we got a good passing move together the bit of quality we have showed and we ended up scoring.City suffered a blow early into the second half when Scotland international Eilish McSorley was stretchered off after a bad head injury.I obviously felt that Suzanne Malone coming on at half time made a real difference to us, and when we went 2-0 we were in total control.Despite the setback City maintained their rhythm and made it 2-0 with some great individual play from Malone, who weaved her way past the Celtic back line before firing past Gemma Fay from an acute angle. We gave ourselves a pressurised last 10 to 15 minutes through our own fault. Unfortunately that has been a pattern this season, but credit to the players they saw the game out and we now look forward to the draw for the semi's.Celtic found a lifeline in front of the 200 strong crowd; a poor defensive error allowing Harrison to sweep the ball into the empty net with ten minutes left.Good play from Jo Love, Suzanne Lappin and Sarah Crilly created a good opportunity for pre-season signing Lisa Robertson, but the former Hibs striker shot wide from a good angle inside the box.
