Brian Kidd welcomes win

I've got to be honest, if you had said to me before the game that you are going to win and clinch second place, I would have accepted that. The staff, the fans and the players, they did it for the club so I was personally pleased and how the players acknowledged the fans at the end was really nice. All credit to the players," former Manchester United assistant boss Kidd added. "They are the ones who have had to put up with stuff off the pitch as well and I am pleased for them because it would have been a travesty if they had not finished second.Kidd said the win took the pressure off the players going into their final game of the season, at home to Norwich on Sunday. And Kidd told the club's website:  "What has gone on in the last 24 hours, it was a shock to the staff. It was on my mind that we needed to seal second place, that was the least we had to do.
