Brian Flynn named director

           
In line with this the owners have offered Brian a senior role within the club developing and supporting whoever is to manage the side as it goes into the Championship.Following the end of the season, Brian Flynn has approached the club and expressed a desire to return back to what he sees as his passion in the development and recruitment of players.Brian will be involved in the search for a new manager and new players for the challenge ahead in one of the most competitive leagues in the world.Chairman John Ryan extended Flynn's contract by two weeks on Monday.Flynn, who had two spells with Doncaster as a player, had not managed at club level since leaving Swansea in 2004, although he had a short spell as caretaker boss of the Wales national side three years ago while in charge of their youth set-up.The 57-year-old Welshman, who was appointed until the end of the season after Dean Saunders left for Wolves in January, guided the club to the League One title this season.The former Wrexham boss joined Rovers at the start of the season in a scouting capacity before stepping up to the manager's role.
