Argentine ace

The troubled striker has only played once for the Serie A outfit this season due to an ongoing dispute over his future at the club. The 26-year-old is starting to become a nuisance in the Italian outfit’s dressing room, becoming somewhat of a divisive figure, so Lazio have begun to seriously consider releasing him from his contract, which would make him eligible to join Spurs on a free transfer.Zarate is hopeful of getting his contract cancelled by mutual consent so that he can leave Lazio in the summer. This would come as a huge boost to Andre Villas-Boas who is a big fan of Zarate and is looking to consolidate his striking options as Tottenham’s lack of depth up front is a worry for the former Chelsea boss.If the former Birmingham City player fails to get his request granted, Lazio will allegedly ask for at least £5million for the Argentine ace.
