Abou Diaby injury

Diaby’s Arsenal career has been blighted by injury but Wenger admitted his shock after hearing the news of the midfielder’s latest “demoralising” setback.Diaby’s progress at Arsenal has been severely hampered by injuries in recent seasons. He has been limited to just 14 appearances in all competitions this term after missing large portions of the campaign due to a hip problem and only played five games.“I hope he will find the resources and the strength to come back because he was quite down. That was the shock of the week for us, because I thought originally it was just a little twist of the knee,” said Wenger. The France midfielder tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in Arsenal training on Wednesday and the club confirmed the 26-year-old will require surgery and face a lengthy lay-off.When they told me it was a rupture of his cruciate, and when you know what this guy has gone through, how many times he has worked day and night to come back in rehab, it is just demoralising.
